How is K2 formed?
At the foothills of K2, it is believed that a copper-rich layer of rock made of copper minerals like azurite and malachite formerly covered an underlying layer of granite.
The copper-rich rock was worn away over many years by weathering and erosion, leaving only blue Azurite stains and faint green Malachite hints on the feldspar-rich granite beneath, creating K2 Stone.

What is K2?
K2 is a mix of fine, white Granite composed of Feldspar minerals and flecks of Biotite infused with orbs of bright blue Azurite.
Where is K2 found?
Near the base of Mount K2 in the Karakoram Range of northern Pakistan.
How is K2 formed?
They were formed when spherical concentrations of Azurite penetrated, and “dyed” some feldspars as a secondary material formed after all other minerals in a granite formation solidified.
Can K2 go in water?
Yes, K2 stones can be immersed and cleaned in water without harm.
Can K2 be left in the sun?
Yes, K2 is safe in the sun. Prolonged exposure might dull the blue Azurite a bit, but normal use is safe.
How hard are K2 stones?
K2 is mostly granite and has a normal hardness of about 6 on the Mohs Scale. It can be scratched and show wear over time.
